Daily Japanese Log Monday December 18, 2017

I started my morning by visiting the News web easy website. It's a great way to improve your reading speed and it's good to take a break from textbooks and see real Japanese in use . It's basically a website that covers the news in Japanese, but they gear it towards those who are learning Japanese. They even have furigana to help with difficult kanji and while reading the text you can also watch a videoclip or listen to audio of the news as well.

I just picked an article at random since I had to go to work.

After reading the article I would normally read it again 2 more times, and on the third time I would write down the kanji I didn't understand and find sentences using them to practice from. I keep reading the same article for a week or so until I could understand it well enough. But I didn't do that today since I was in a rush so it's on my task list for tomorrow.

I did review my vocabulary on the memrise app which looked like this:

しりあう
ひっこす
めしあがる
ごちんになる

The kanji I practiced writing:

的
洋
堂
授
業

That was all I managed to get done today. My studies are more intensive on the weekends so i'm usually just reviewing during the week.

I remember when this first came out in 2007 I loved how energetic it was and at the time I didn't know any Japanese so I remember writing down the lyrics and trying to sing along. When it got to the chorus it was so FAST and it took me forever to memorize that part. So a few years ago I heard the song again  and as I was singing along I noticed I sing the chorus way faster than she does haha! I guess as I got more use to the sound of Japanese it doesn't sound as fast as I remember it sounding.
